India’s Premiere literary institution, The Sahitya Akademi confers The Sahitya Academy Award to the most outstanding books of literary merit published in major 24 Indian languages annually. This includes 22 listed languages in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution, along with English and Rajastani as recognised by the Akademi.
In the Year 2012, Odia language story teller Gourahari Das was honored with this literary epitome for his short story collection “Kanta O Anyanya Galpa”.
